Amy Hass

Amy Hass is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Chicago Operations at Simple Mills. Amy joined Simple Mills in 2015 when the company had less than $1M in revenue and had products in just a few hundred stores. Amy was one of the earliest employees of Simple Mills.  Starting as a Finance Manager, she learned the business from the ground up and has successfully scaled into roles of increasing responsibility. Over the past 8 years she has served as a vital partner to Founder & CEO Katlin Smith, and has been instrumental to the company’s growth.  Amy was promoted to VP of Finance in 2017 and Chief Financial Officer in 2021. As CFO and Head of Chicago Operations, Amy oversees Finance, Accounting, HR, Sales, and Legal.  Additionally, Amy champions company culture, leads the executive team, and is a key partner to the company’s Board of Directors. 

Amy scaled the finance function from a team of one to a high performing team with best practice processes and structure. During Amy’s time as head of Finance, the company has grown over 6x in revenue, launched 6 product lines, and expanded by 5x in employee size. Some of Amy’s largest accomplishments in the role include leading six financing rounds, including a minority investment from a leading Private Equity firm, and hiring and developing the entire finance team.  

Prior to Simple Mills, Amy was part of the Financial Leadership Development Program at General Mills and was a Financial consultant at PwC. Amy graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She lives in Glenview, IL and has two daughters – Taylor (3), and Nora (1).
