Donna Moore
Lawndale Educational & Regional Network Charter School
Donna Moore serves as LEARN’s first Chief Financial Officer. LEARN is a nationally recognized network of 11 elementary charter schools with an annual operating budget of $60 million. Moore leads the strategic financial management in the following areas: Treasury; Investments; Accounting Processes; Financial Reporting; Forecasting; Budgeting and Compliance. She led the successful completion of a $27.8 million tax-exempt public bond offering to refinance existing debt and finance campus renovations and expansion.
Prior to joining LEARN in 2016, Moore served as the Chief Financial Officer of Chicago Public Media, Inc. (WBEZ 91.5 FM), a position she held for 16 years. In this role, Moore created the financial framework needed to manage growth in operations from $7 million to over $24 million. At WBEZ, she led the financing for a major facilities renovation project. She has also held positions in the for-profit sector and public accounting.
Moore has a BBA in accounting from Loyola University, an MBA in finance from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an MPA from the Kennedy School at Harvard University. In addition, Moore is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and PHR (Professional in Human Resources through the HR Certification Institute). Moore served on the board and was a past President of the Chicago Finance Exchange, a leading organization of female financial executives in the Chicago metropolitan area. Moore also served on the Women’s Leadership Council for Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business and provides her financial acumen to local community organizations.
