Himal Agarwal
Braviant Holdings, LLC
Himal joined Braviant in 2018 as Head of Capital Markets and was promoted to the Chief Financial Officer position in early 2019. He oversees the FP&A, Accounting, Capital Markets, Tax and Treasury functions and provides guidance on strategic decisions to the broader executive management team. Over the past few years, Himal has implemented a cross-functional and data driven approach to reviewing KPIs and forecasting financial performance and has built out a robust liquidity management infrastructure to ensure cash is reinvested for growth. Since he joined, he has been instrumental in developing relationships with bank partners which are critical for product and market expansion for FinTech companies like Braviant. His initiatives and contributions in 2020 allowed Braviant to reach the highest profitability in company history while improving the balance sheet materially. Over the last 18 months, Himal completed a number of critical capital markets transactions totaling $100M+ which helped to propel revenue growth in 2021 by 50%+.
Prior to joining Braviant, Himal completed more than 50 debt, equity, and M&A transactions over 10+ years in both private equity and investment banking. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of Private Equity and as an investment committee member at New Island Capital, an impact investment firm where he led investments in mission-driven businesses and served on the Board of several portfolio companies. Previously, he worked for leading investment banking firms Credit Suisse, William Blair, and Livingstone Partners. Himal also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Millennium Bank, an Illinois-based community bank with over $250 million in assets. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Children’s Choir.
He received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. More recently, Himal completed an executive education course titled Succeeding as a Strategic CFO at Harvard Business School.
Himal resides in the Southport Corridor neighborhood of Lakeview with his wife Shimul Lahoti, and their daughter Parisa and son Pasha.
