Robert M. Sauerbrey

Rob Sauerbrey is the Chief Financial Officer of UCC Environmental in Waukegan, Illinois, where he provides executive oversight of corporate finance, accounting, and FP&A. He also leads the company’s Business Development function, focusing on sourcing, evaluating, and closing strategic M&A acquisitions. His responsibilities include capital allocation strategy, banking relationships, and liquidity management, all of which have helped position the company for steady growth and financial flexibility. In the past 10 months, Rob has led three tuck-in acquisitions that added valuable intellectual property aligned with the company’s water treatment and performance parts growth strategy.

Rob considers himself an operational CFO, shaped by a career that began on the plant floor. The first half of his career was spent in manufacturing and operations leadership, which gives him a perspective that is relatively uncommon among finance executives. This background allows him to connect financial strategy with day-to-day operations, assess acquisitions from both a financial and operational lens, and work closely with leaders across the organization.

Before joining UCC Environmental, Rob served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Techniks Tool Group. There, he partnered with the CEO to grow the business from $70 million to $200 million in revenue through a mix of organic growth and disciplined acquisitions. During his time with the company, he oversaw 10 add-on acquisitions that contributed more than $100 million in revenue. He was also asked to take on oversight of operations, including the Indianapolis, IN distribution facility, the Rochester, NY manufacturing facility, and the global supply chain, reflecting the company’s confidence in his leadership across functions.

Earlier in his career, Rob held senior finance roles at Clondalkin Pharma & Healthcare, AutoCar LLC, Emerson Electric, and International Paper. In these positions, he managed financial operations for divisions and plants generating up to $300 million in annual revenue. He began his career in operations with Georgia-Pacific, working his way through roles in production supervision, maintenance management, and plant management across facilities in Ohio and Wisconsin. That experience continues to shape how he approaches financial leadership today.

Rob is a Certified Public Accountant and is an active member of the Indiana CPA Society. He earned an MBA from Marquette University and a BBA in Operations Management from Ohio University.

Rob and his wife, Katie, have been together for nearly 20 years. They live in Carmel, Indiana, with their two children, Michael and Audrey.
