Sean Burke

Sean Burke is a seasoned finance executive with more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience spanning mid-market private equity-backed companies, multinational food manufacturing, global asset management, and public accounting. Since October 2023, Sean has served as Chief Financial Officer of Porter Family Companies, headquartered in Addison, Illinois. His role has expanded to include executive responsibility for purchasing & supply chain. The Porter Family of Companies includes Porter Pipe & Supply Company and Bulldog Cartage—together forming a dynamic, growing platform in the commercial distribution and logistics space.

In his current role, Sean leads the accounting, purchasing, supply chain and fleet management departments and plays a central role in strategic operations as a member of the Executive Team and the company’s Board of Directors. He is responsible for the financial strategy, operational performance, capital investment and enterprise resource planning across the business.

Prior to joining Porter, Sean held CFO roles at Fortune International and Tall Tree Foods—two private equity-backed food and distribution businesses—where he was instrumental in scaling operations, executing M&A strategies, and building out FP&A and administrative infrastructures. At Fortune International, Sean helped grow pro forma revenue fourfold and tripled EBITDA within two years through organic growth and eight successful acquisitions. At Tall Tree Foods, he restored financial compliance, implemented risk mitigation practices, and led strategic planning during a period of operational transformation.

Earlier in his career at Kerry Group plc, Sean served as Vice President of Finance and CFO for a $750M business unit, where he co-authored a $1B strategic growth plan, closed over $300M in long-term customer agreements, and led over $700M in acquisitions. Sean began his career with KPMG Ireland, earning his professional qualifications in Ireland and gaining broad experience in audit, tax, treasury, and risk management.

Sean is recognized for his collaborative leadership style, his ability to build high-performing teams, and his strategic acumen in driving Net Income and EBITDA growth, operational efficiency, and enterprise value. A trusted partner to CEOs, boards, and investors, Sean brings financial clarity and commercial insight to every executive table he joins.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree in Accounting from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute.

Originally from Ireland, Sean has been married to Michaela for 14 years and is the proud father of three daughters: Abby (13), Cara (10), and Lily (8). He enjoys visiting Ireland regularly to spend time with family and friends, and is an avid fan of the outdoors and all sports—especially soccer and golf.
