Wayne Magdziarz
Loyola University of Chicago
Wayne F. Magdziarz grew up in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side of Chicago. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago in radio and television in 1981 and an MBA from Loyola in 1987. He managed the University’s FM radio station and later joined the faculty, teaching courses in radio and TV production for nine years before moving into university administration in 1990. His early administrative roles included Executive Assistant to the President and Associate Vice President.
From 2002 to 2017, Mr. Magdziarz served as Senior Vice President for Capital Planning and Campus Management. In this role, he oversaw all aspects of Loyola’s campus and facilities management, led multi-campus redevelopment projects, and guided the acquisition, construction, leasing, and sale of more than $1 billion in capital assets, including the creation of our in-house investment property management organization.
In 2017, Mr. Magdziarz was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer. In this role, he leads and integrates all the finance, capital planning, and campus management functions under one division.
In addition to his University work, Mr. Magdziarz serves on the Finance Council for Holy Name Cathedral and co-hosts a radio show for the Archdiocese of Chicago several times a month.
