Ray Young

Vice Chairman, Former Chief Financial Officer, Archer Daniels Midland

Ray G. Young recently retired from the Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world’s premier agricultural origination and processing company.  Ray last served as its vice chairman, and prior to that, Ray was ADM’s chief financial officer for over 11 years.  Prior to ADM, he lived and worked on four continents, serving in various senior executive roles at General Motors (GM), including as its president of the Mercosur Region of South America from 2004-2007, its chief financial officer from 2008-2009 and as vice president of International Operations, based in China, in 2010. 

Young serves on the board of directors of the International Paper Company (NYSE: IP) and is the chair of its audit and finance committee.   In addition, Ray was recently appointed onto the boards of Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) and Marsh McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC), and he sits on their respective audit committees.   Ray also serves on the board of the American Cancer Society Illinois Division, and was recognized as one of the most significant national volunteers in 2019 with the St George National Award.

Young graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the Booth School of University of Chicago and Bachelor of Arts from the Ivey School of Western University,

Ray was recognized by FEI Chicago in 2021 as CFO of the Year for Large Public Companies.
